What African-Canadian Women Thought of Black Panther

We can all agree that we know what Americans think about “Black Panther,” but what about African-Canadians? How do we Canadians situate ourselves in Wakanda as citizens who live in a nation accused of hiding their racism under the guise of peaceful multiculturalism? It is much cooler to talk about the music, race, and culture in America rather than Canada because we have never analyzed ourselves in the Canadian context or have no knowledge of what was going on in our own backyard.

Understandably so, critiquing our American neighbors can lead to ignorance, which is unfair, due to the fact that we lack a load of context. This discussion was created to help viewers gain a glimpse of what growing up African in Canada felt like for some black women.
