FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 1, 2018—The Witness announced today that Tyler Burns has been appointed vice president of The Witness. In this role, Burns will work directly with The Witness President Jemar Tisby to develop goals and a strategic plan for the organization along with overseeing operations for Pass the Mic.
“The Witness is thrilled to have Tyler assume the role of vice president and we are excited for this new season of our organization as we continue to grow our leadership,” said Tisby. “Tyler’s experience in pastoral ministry, work with Pass the Mic, and passion for The Witness made him an obvious choice for vice president. We look forward to seeing how the organization will grow in breadth and depth under his leadership.”
Burns is a pastor at New Dimensions Christian Center in Pensacola, Fla., where he lives with his wife and daughter. Along with Pass the Mic, Burns co-hosts Once Upon a Time in Wakanda and Chasing Justice. He is a contributing author to The Witness and has been featured on Christianity Today’s podcast, The Calling.

Congratulations to The Witness and Tyler Burns ! I am writing from South Africa. I am a pastor at a church in Johannesburg and lead Rays of Hope (one of the leading NPOs in the country). Many of the issues you discuss in your podcasts speak to issues we face in SA , so i learn much from the discussions and interviews. Please keep up the incredible work you are doing as you shine the light of Gods word on the issue of race and justice.
Love the new name and stance.
