Sermon Highlight: Praying with Spiritual Priorities – H.B. Charles Jr.

by MINISTERMANTHA

I don’t know about you, but prayer isn’t often my default. With good news, or bad, bright times and dark times, I sometimes turn to family and friends before I turn to God. I believe this sermon by Pastor H.B. Charles Jr. is for people just like me.

In his message, Pastor H.B. highlights how the Apostle Paul prayed for people he didn’t even know, and I immediately thought of the Global Church. Pray for the persecuted church today, as well as churches around the world who may feel forgotten. H.B. also speaks on praying to God, while secretly (or not so secretly) having a ‘Plan B’ or ‘Plan C’ in our hearts; he touches on many of our other prayer vices as well.

The segment, ‘When You Don’t Know What To Pray’ impacted me the most. It reminded me of the verse in Romans 8:26, “…we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” There is something so broken, humble, and beautiful about starting a prayer with a sigh or groan before you even have the words. During situations that leave me baffled, many of my prayers are simply the words: “Lord, you know.”

Check out what H.B. Charles Jr. has to say below.

Some Quotes:

You can’t get spiritual discernment through common sense.

You can’t do God’s will in your strength.
