What exactly is the good life? Is it retirement, riches, relaxation, minimal responsibility, ease? Sounds rather good to me. But maybe there’s something more. I want to find out and I’d love for us to discover it together.
Over the next several weeks we will be going through The Good Life, written by hip-hop artist and teacher, Trip Lee.
The Good Life is divided into four sections and includes twelve short chapters. Each section builds on each other explaining what is the good life, keys to the good life, living the good life, and the good that God gives. Lee walks his readers through an understanding of salvation to discipleship.
Here’s how this will work:
Each Thursday, beginning on September 5, I will post a short synopsis of the chapter. The assumption will be that you have been reading along. I’ll share my general impression and areas I was convicted and encouraged. I will then ask a few questions for you to think through. The hope would be that you would enter thoughts or additional questions in the comments section on the post.
What you will need:
- Grab The Good Life: You can purchase the book through any of these links: Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or via the retailer list at Moody Publishers. You have two weeks to secure your copy for the discussion.
- Show up on Thursdays! Even if you haven’t read the chapter, join us! Be open and honest—I’ll make sure to do the same.
I am trusting that Trip Lee’s words and example in The Good Life will help us reevaluate our definition of what is truly good. Remember, grab the book and then join us for Chapter 1: Don’t Eat the Fruit on Thursday, September 5.
