For thirty years of my law enforcement career I’ve wondered about a phenomenon I’ve witnessed dozens, if not hundreds of times. Now I know what is in the mind of parents who make excuses for their criminal children and plead with police and judges for mercy. It’s privelege. In some cases it’s white privelege, like the Stanford case. In others, it’s black privelege, like in the case of one of the two young black men responsible for the murder of a white cop in Kansas City yesterday. One of the murderer’s mother and aunt were quoted saying,
“He’s not a bad kid. He’s hanging out with a rough crowd. He has no record and has never been arrested. People should not rush to judgment. Don’t do that.” And, “The only thing I want people to know is that the picture that’s being painted is not actually him, Which is what most people know, everybody that knows him knows that he’s not that kind of kid.”
Thanks Tyler.
Eleven police officers, ten of them white, killed this month by young black racists and hardly a peep from RAAN.
